A weak jobs report and other economic data suggest the US may be nearing a recession, warns Moody’s Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi.
“The economy is on the precipice of recession,” Zandi posted on X on August 3, citing stalled consumer spending, shrinking construction and manufacturing, and expected job losses.
Experts have been warning that weakening job growth, slowing consumer spending, and contracting industries could drag the economy into a recession if the trend continues.
